About

My design made the cover!
I love working with my hands and I am a proud multi-crafter since childhood. I learned to knit, crochet and sew in elementary school back in Switzerland but have lived now in the US for the last 20 years. With every crafting project I seek new challenges and use a diverse range of techniques and media to produce designs that highlight simplicity and elegance.

My designs have been published in Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Noro Magazine, Designer Knitting, Knitter's Magazine, Creative Knitting, Knit Simple, as contributions to books like '60 More Quick Baby Knits' and 'Cable Ready', online with Petite Purls and Knitcircus, by yarn companies like Kollage Yarns and Universal Yarns, and I self-publish patterns via Ravlery when I find the time. :)
You can find a listing of all my currently published designs via the Patterns tab.

I also work as a freelance tech editor for Interweave and tech edit, create charts and schematics for their wonderful Knits, Knitscene, Knit.Wear and eMagazines.

And, I used to be the sole German-to-English translator for all the knit/crochet instructions of the stylish European Verena Knitting magazine (~70 patterns per issue) for its last year as an English magazine. The magazine is still available in German, French and Russian.

Feel free to contact me if you need any tech editing or German-English translation work done.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching. For a list of classes I teach and events you can find me at, visit the Teaching section of this blog.

As part of my commitment to teaching, I founded The Mile High Knitting Guild, an official chapter of The Knitting Guild of America (TKGA) in Broomfield, CO, at the beginning of 2012.

We meet on every 3rd Wednesday of the month in the morning from 9:30 - 11:30 am and also in the evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
I usually teach a free ~1 hour knitting technique workshop at each meeting.

And, to round out the fiber experience, I started LocalFibers.com, an online web directory designed to connect fiber providers with fiber artists throughout the United States and Canada.

If you are a fiber provider, get listed for FREE by submitting your information here.
